Lighthouse Dental Practice News
Welcoming our new Associate Dentist!
As many of our patients are already aware, we said a sad farewell to Dr Anthony Griffin at the end of October. After 10 years of dedicated service to our patients, Dr Griffin has taken a difficult decision to reduce his lengthy commuting time by choosing to practice closer to his home. He assured us that the decision to move was one of the most difficult career decisions he had to make. The staff and colleagues at Lighthouse Dental Practice together with the patients wish him all the best of luck in his future career.
We are delighted to welcome to the team our new Associate Dentist, Dr Kate Ranson,
MFGDP(UK) Royal College of Surgeons Of England , BDS Lond.
Kate was born and brought up in Suffolk. She graduated from King’s College London in 2002 and went on to complete her MFGDP post graduate qualification at the Royal College of Surgeons in 2004. Since qualifying she has worked at a dental practice in Essex where she enjoyed providing continuity of care for her patients. Kate lives locally and has a young family. She is committed to providing excellent quality dental care with a strong focus on preventative dentistry. Kate enjoys building long term relationships with patients and provides friendly personal care which meets the needs of every member of the family.
If you would like to make an appointment to see Kate for a dental check-up, or for a more in-depth consultation to discuss a specific issue or treatment option, please contact the practice on 01473255379. Susie will be glad to help you arrange a convenient appointment.

We are pleased to be able to offer dental hypnotherapy which is very successful at helping people to overcome their fears. Hypnotherapy can address needle phobias, dental fear, dental; anxiety and even a sensitive gag reflex! It provides an effective sedation whilst maintaining patient collaboration, but it also may help patients recovering from dental anxiety and phobia as well as those with a severe gag reflex.

Regular visits will ensure that hidden and difficult to reach plaque and tartar is removed from your teeth, killing mouth bacteria, and, in some cases, removing surface stains to leave you with a fresher, brighter and all-round healthier mouth. Our Dental Hygienists and Dental Therapists are permitted to treat patients without a prior examination by a dentist. We welcome patients who only want to see our Dental Hygienist or Dental Therapist without having to register with the Dentists and have an examination beforehand. If our Dental Hygienist or Dental Therapist feel that you would benefit from a dental examination by a dentist, you will be advised of this. If you would like to book an appointment directly or would like to ask any questions or queries regarding direct access, please get in touch with the practice for more information.
